| Constructed between the late 19th and early 20th centuries near Gressoney-Saint-Jean, this castle was commissioned by Queen Margherita of Savoy as her summertime retreat. The castle graces visitors with panoramic views, spanning from the breathtaking Monte Rosa to the pristine Lyskamm glacier.
Queen Margherita, an avid mountaineer and the first woman to conquer Monte Rosa, held a deep affection for these mountains. Castel Savoia, often her summer haven, remains a testament to her love for this alpine landscape. Its neo-Gothic architecture, fashioned from local grey stone, complements the stunning surroundings.
